Batik Malaysia village
We have been to Kuantan a few times already. This December, we chose Kuantan again. Why we choose Kuantan? Initially was simply because we are Swiss Garden Vacation Club member and so far we found SGV's best hotel is located in Kuantan. The Swiss Garden Resort & Spa, which is about 13 km up north from Kuantan town.
Batik painting
Our last trip in Oct 06, we visited the Batik Malaysia village, which is just about 2 km to right once you come out from Swiss Garden Resort & Spa. There the best activity we have was to paint our own batik!
I left my kids (only the girls like this) at the batik village, they chose the pre-printed batik pieces and they could sit there for the whole afternoon to do the coloring. I framed up their art pieces and hung them in the house.
My kids like this so much and this time they still want to do it again. Every thing is provided. The frame, colors, brushes and water. We just need to purchase the blank patterned cloth.
Xin Yue likes to team up with the eldest sister, Xin Ying.
Xin Yuan always like to paint alone.
Beside this, this time we have revisited their batik manufacturing facility behind the shops and took down a few pictures:

This is the place where worker uses to pattern framing on a piece of white cloth. On the wall we can see a lot of pattern blocks use for printing side frame.

On top you can see a preparation for the wax solution before they are melted.
In this picture, we can see a pot of melted wax solution, still hot, ready to be used for printing.
The worker use the pattern block, dips it into the wax solution and print it on the white cloth. It dries quite fast.
For other type of batik painting, the workers may choose to do it manually using the wax pen as shown above.
